2026 DAY AT THE LAKE

We had a picture-perfect lake day at Lake McCarrons for the 2026 Day-at-the-Lake event. If you were not able to join us, here's what you missed!
• Staff from Capitol Region Watershed District, Ramsey County Public Works, and Ramsey County SWCD gave us a great virtual tour of ongoing lake management projects in the area.
• Our MLMS student rep (Amanda Scheurmann) trained attendees on snail identification and discussed her ongoing research on the link between AIS and swimmers itch.
• Staff from the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board demonstrated the use of a chlorophyll probe and discussed their experience using it to monitoring Minneapolis lakes.
• Lots of laughing and nerdy lake discussions (like we said - a perfect day!)
